The Garden Favorite Heart-Shaped World Leslie's Show, "Heart-Shaped World", opened at Sandpiper Gallery

Leslie Pratt-Thomas's newest collection of work, "Heart-Shaped World" debuted on June 23rd, 2012 at Sandpiper Gallery (2201 Middle Street, Sullivans Island, SC 29482). Leslie's work was showcased in conjunction with a book signing by Mary Alice Monroe, featuring her newest release, "Beach Memories". Leslie's work will remain on display at Sandpiper Gallery. Come out to Sullivan's Island and take a look!

In Formation Painting Chosen for Art in Embassies Program

The painting at left, In Formation 40" x 30", was chosen to be part of an exhibition of the Art in Embassies Program. It was originally part of Leslie's "Coastal Heritage: Our Bond With Nature" collection which opened at Sandpiper Gallery and was featured in an issue of American Art Collector. It will hang for two years in the US Embassy in Dakar, Senegal.


Cocksure Paint America Top 50 and Top 100 Placements

Leslie was recently honored with placement in the Paint America Mini Top 50 with her piece Shake a Tail Feather. In addition, Leslie had two pieces accepted into the Paint America Top 100 List: Cocksure (pictured left) and Chicken Crosses the Road.

 

Shackles Book Cover Shackles, Award-Winning Book, Available

Shackles, the book illustrated by Leslie Pratt-Thomas and written by Marjory Wentworth, our South Carolina poet laureate, is currently available at either gallery, local bookstores, and may be ordered from the publisher's site. Marjory and Leslie are happy to announce that Shackles has won the Silver in the multi-cultural division of the 2009 Moonbeam Awards. The book also won a SIBA Book Award nomination. Look for this image on the cover of New York Times best-selling author Mary Alice Monroe’s book entitled Swimming Lessons. Giclée images of I Can Fly are available in two sizes: 12" x 9" framed for $350, and 16" x 12" gallery-wrapped for $300. Giclées may be purchased from either of the galleries that represent Leslie.
